In the last blog we said , in the next, we will see what is a property card. In Mumbai, Property card is invariably in Marathi. So we must be familiar with the Marathi words used in the Property card. It is referred to as Malmatta Patrak in Marathi.
First column on the PRC is the Village name, then is Tluka then comes the District. Second row of the Property card has CTS number of the bhumapan kramank, sheet number, plot number, and  area in s mtrs, tenure or the dharanadhikar then the dues paid to the Government, next row is --any other rights holder etc Then comes the original owner of the land. Then is followed by any other charges. The next row is for the mutation entries-- date, the deal, part number , new owner/holder or lease holder or mortgage. Last column is endorsement by way of signature of the CTS officer.

The Marathi terms used:
 Mouje= Village
 Taluka: Taluka
 Nagar Bhumapan Adhikari = CTS officer.
 Zilla = District
 Bhumapan kramank = CTS number
 Dharandhikaar = Tenure
 Binsheti = Non Agricultural

Hope this basic information on the property card is useful to you.

Propertyly  yours
